Armenia has many problems, which the people are no longer able to overcome, Astghik Aghekyan, one of the participants of today’s sit-in against electricity price hike. The protest was held by “Rise up, Armenia” initiative in Yerevan’s Republic Square, told Armenian News – NEWS.am. The sit-in was.

According to Aghekyan, everyone should join the struggle, since under such conditions Armenia is gradually becoming emptier.

“There are so many problems in our country that we can no longer tolerate. People are leaving Armenia, as they can’t earn money here. And this results in the destruction of families, since the men go and live abroad,” she said, noting that the electricity price hike will make the living more difficult and contribute to the migration.  

Earlier, the movement announced that they are launching a 72-hour sit-in since today. At the same time, initiative members have launched awareness action in Armenia’s Vanadzor city. The participants will hold similar actions in Armenia’s Gyumri, Talin and Ashtarak cities, and will then come to the capital  

 “No to Plunder” initiative members, who raised the first wave of protest against electricity price hike in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue, have refused to participate in the sit-in.
