YEREVAN. – In the near future, the Government of Armenia will assume the legal ownership of the assets of the Nairit chemical plant in capital city of Yerevan.

The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Yervand Zakharyan, stated about the above-said at Tuesday’s talk in Parliament.

In the minister’s words, lengthy negotiations with Nairit’s main creditor—the CIS Interstate Bank—have led to the bank’s accordance to waive—and in favor of Armenia—the receivables that were not collected from the plant.

“Soon we can legally assume the management of the 90 percent of the plant assets,” added Zakharyan.
