YEREVAN. – The health condition of the man, who is the suspect in the Mkhitaryan couple’s murder Wednesday in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, is critical but stable. 

The intensive care unit representatives at the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center, where this man was hospitalized, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They informed that the patient underwent surgery at night, he has regained consciousness, but has vision problems. 

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned that the man had attempted to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head.

As reported earlier, a report was received on Wednesday at 6:48pm. Accordingly, an unidentified man had fired gunshots—at the courtyard of a Yerevan building—at married couple Hovhannes, 53, and Lusine, 44, Mkhitaryan, who had died on the spot. They were killed outside the garage where they lived.

A criminal case is opened on this incident.
