YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Ministry is following developments over an Armenian cemetery in Chisinau, Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan told reporters on Thursday.

“On the one hand the territory is considered a protected area, on the other hand it has not been handed over to the Armenian community. We continue to monitor this issue and we are trying to support the Armenian community as much as we can,” he said.

Earlier head of the Armenian community of Moldova Venera Gasparyan said the municipality of Chisinau wants to take away the territory, including a church and a cemetery, that historically belongs to the Armenians.
