YEREVAN. – The Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Sergo Karapetyan, on Thursday received the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) representatives, Babken Babayan and Severin Oman.

The interlocutors discussed the course of implementation in Armenia of the “Producer Group and Value Chain Development” project of the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD).

Karapetyan stressed the importance of this project in terms of agricultural development in Armenia.

The guests, for their part, informed that 190 applications were received within the framework of this project. They also highlighted that when selecting the respective applicants, preference will be given to those that have expressed the wish to grow high-value and non-traditional crops in Armenia.

To ensure the effectiveness of this project, it is expected to prepare individual business plans, based on which each applicant will be funded.
