Two people, including one off-season, have drowned in Armenia’s Lake Sevan in the current year.

Commander of the Special Water Rescue Squad of the Gegharkunik Province, Artur Chzmachyan, stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Friday.

Chzmachyan noted that although the number of ill-fated accidents has not changed substantially this year as compared to the previous years, the number of calls to the 911 emergency hotline has increased in 2015.

To avoid unfortunate accidents, the head of the water rescue squad gave respective advice to the holidaymakers at Sevan.

Artur Chzmachyan also noted that, as of June 1, the Special Water Rescue Squad of the Gegharkunik Province has switched to enhanced-mode service.
