YEREVAN. - “Shengavit” medical centre issued a statement, elaborating on the situation related to the death of the 26-year-old mother in labor Mary Margaryan.

According to the statement, Margaryan was not diagnosed with pneumonia, but “acute pyelonephritis, acute respiratory disease and anemia of pregnancy” in a satisfying condition.  

“At the time of hospitalization, the pregnant woman was complaining of general weakness, dull pain in the left lumbar section and high temperature. Treatment was undertaken,” the statement reads.

The next morning the pregnant woman complained of general weakness. According to the medical centre, Margaryan didn’t mention her coughing, while her temperature was 37,8. Several laboratory tests were taken and X-ray was done, but pneumonia wasn’t revealed.

In connection with changes in tests, consultation was convened, and it was decided to hold consultations with hepatologist and neuro-ophthalmologist. The latter proposed subarachnoidal hemorrhage, following which Margaryan was taken to “Erebouni” medical centre by Ambulance.

Relatives of Mary Margaryan say the situation was different. According to them, Shushanik Bakhshyan, the doctor of “Shengavit” medical centre, showed a detached attitude and ignored the complaints of the pregnant woman.
