The Italian patriotic movement Aternativa Tricolore requests to call a street in Genoa in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims, Genova24.it reports, citing the movement’s statement.

The movement representatives suggest giving a corresponding name to the stair alley, connecting two city streets, via Bainsizza and via Brigata Salerno. For this purpose the activists are planning to address to the Genoa Municipal Council on Geographic Names.

“This is a gesture of solidarity, which the Municipal Council can show to a nation, who was persecuted by the Ottomans and survived a Genocide, which mustn’t be forgotten, but live in the consciousness of all the democratic forces so that such cruelties are not repeated in near future,” the statement reads.
