Abrahamyan, during the official signing ceremony, noted that Armenia has recorded considerable progress in fulfilling the goals of the Millennium Development. The PM added that this document is the third in the respective series of documents, and, as he was reported, the summary of the two previous five-year documents has shown that Armenia achieved significant progress in several domains of public life.

The Premier also expressed confidence that the new document likewise will greatly contribute to ensuring the welfare of the residents of the country.

Busetto, for his part, noted that this document makes up the framework of Armenia-UN cooperation, and reflects the vision for collaboration. The UN official stated that this plan is a strategic tool for planning the UN assistance.

He added that this plan acknowledges Armenia’s progress, and records the innovative solutions to address the challenges the country faces.

The new five-year plan has a total budget of US$119 million.
