Head of the Communists of Russia political movement in the Krasnodar Krai (region), Mikhail Abramyan, withdrew his candidacy for the governor elections, and in favor of candidate Nikolai Osadchy, who represents the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.  

According to secretary of the Krasnodar regional committee of the Communists of Russia, Dmitry Pechinsky, Abramyan took this step to consolidate the leftist political forces in the Kuban region. 

As a result, five candidates will vie for the position of Governor of Krasnodar Krai. 

The respective election is slated for September 13.
