YEREVAN. – A criminal case has opened into the death of Meri Margaryan, 26, who had died two days after giving birth in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Press Service of the Investigative Committee told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They informed that the criminal case was launched on charges of not—or improperly—performing medical duties, and which has negligently caused a patient’s death, or human infection with the immunodeficiency virus.

Margaryan’s relatives blame Doctor Sushanik Bakhshyan of the Shengavit district medical center for the young woman’s death.

As reported earlier, the aforesaid 26-year-old woman, who was transferred from the Shengavit medical center on July 27, died on July 29 in “Erebouni” Medical Center, where Meri Margaryan had delivered a baby through Caesarean section. But, subsequently, she was in very critical condition, and the woman passed away two days later. Even though her baby girl’s life was saved, she was in critical condition, and the newborn died on July 30.
