YEREVAN. - The suspect in the murder of an Armenian couple in Yerevan is Tigran Manukyan, 44, a Georgian citizen of Armenian nationality, according to the source of the Armenian News – NEWS.am. Manukyan operated car service in the rented garage owned by the couple.

The tragic incident happened due to a household issue. Someone came to repair a car, then a quarrel sparked, during which the client expressed dissatisfaction with the service. Late Hovhannes Mkhitaryan witnessed the scene. He tried to interfere, in response to which Tigran Manukyan fired. Lusine Mkhitaryan, Hovhannes Mkhitaryan’s wife, came out hearing the sound of the shooting. Tigran Manukyan shot her as well. The other participants fled away.

Shortly, after seeing the police, Manukyan tried to kill himself. As it turned out, his possession of the weapon was legal.

The couple was killed at about 18:48 on July 29.

Criminal case has been filed.
