YEREVAN. – In all likelihood, the new draft Constitution will be introduced for National Assembly (NA) debates in September.

Head of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia NA Faction, Vahram Baghdasaryan, told about the above-said to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I believe the President of the republic will sign the draft and send [it] to the National Assembly in the coming days,” said Baghdasaryan. “It’s not ruled out that the [respective NA] discussions would already start at the first four-day [session] of the fall sitting.”

The fall sitting of the NA begins on September 14.

Chapters 1 through 15 of the new draft Constitution of Armenia have been made public. Accordingly, the country will make a transition from a presidential to a parliamentary system of governance.
