YEREVAN. – The case into the murder of Russian soldier Ivan Novikov, who was found dead in Gyumri, Armenia, has been handed over to the Russian side.

Public Relations Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia informed the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They also stated that this case was transferred to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia pursuant to the respective agreement that is signed between Armenia and Russia.

Novikov’s dead body was found on June 15, at the backside of the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri. The Russian side had launched a criminal case, and, subsequently, arrested Ivan Boskhomjiev, a fellow soldier of the military base. The Armenian side also had filed a criminal case. 

The investigation is still in progress.
