YEREVAN. - Armenia's Police have just released ''Stand up, Armenia'' initiative Council member Andrias Ghukasyan.

In Yerevan's Republic Square, Ghukasyan said out of the 10 detainees only he has been released so far, but the police promised to release the others as well.

''I wasn't subjected to violence at the police department. But the fact of our bringing tires [to the Republic Square], wasn't sufficient to take us there. We will continue the rally, as planned before,'' he said.

The initiative members have been staging a sit-in in Yerevan's Republic Square since July 27. They are demanding to revoke the decision on the electricity price hike in Armenia, as well as the resignation of Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) members and nationalization of the Electric Networks of Armenia.
