YEREVAN. - Gevorg Safaryan, Secretariat member of “Founding Parliament,” Armenian opposition group seeking regime change in Armenia, told Armenian News – NEWS.am he has been fired from work for his political views.

Safaryan, who actively takes part in oppositional protests, was notified about his termination on August 21, right the next day after throwing eggs on the presidential residence on Yerevan’s 26 Baghramyan street.

According to him, he worked as a security guard at Ayb school, and was told he was fired due to redundancy.

“I won’t actually work starting from the beginning of the month. My termination may be connected with my political activity. They said they will no longer need me since September because of redundancy, but I don’t believe that. I think this has to do with my political activity, since they notified me about it right after the day we threw eggs at the presidential residence. If it were due to redundancy, they could have notified me one or two months earlier,” Safaryan said.

The activist said he had worked at school for one year and never got any warnings.

Safaryan also said that by firing the regime can't prevent him from his political activity and struggle.
