YEREVAN. – Due to the heavy rain in recent days in Batumi, Georgia, some tourists from Armenia are coming back home earlier than expected.

Armenia’s Consul General to Batumi, Aram Grigoryan, told the aforesaid Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He said the official weather reports are not always accurate. So, some tourists from Armenia return home with disappointment because it is cold, and therefore they cannot swim in the Black Sea shores of Georgia.

“Now, the number of tourists has dropped, since September is approaching, [and] the academic year is starting,” noted Grigoryan. “In any case, according to the July data, 180 thousand Armenia-based tourists have visited Georgia, which means we are in first place.”
