The President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili, met with Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, who is visiting Georgia.   

The interlocutors discussed the process of Georgia’s integration into NATO, regional security issues, and the Georgian soldiers’ participation in the NATO mission in Afghanistan, reads the statement released by the Office of the President of Georgia.

The NATO Secretary General arrived in Georgia on Wednesday evening.

He held official meetings also with the prime minister, Parliament speaker, and foreign affairs minister of Georgia.

Stoltenberg on Thursday will attend the official opening of the NATO joint training center.
