Azerbaijani residents are against the construction of a new Russian military base in their country.

According to the results of an online survey conducted by contact.az, 30 out of 98 readers think that Russia can be allowed to build a military base in exchange for Karabakh and security zone regions.

4 people think the appearance of the base is possible in exchange for getting the regions, while 9 of them are ready to tolerate the base even in case of getting part of the regions.

51 people are categorically against the opening of the base, since this, according to them, will violate Azerbaijan’s sovereignty. 6 people  found it difficult to respond.

News on the possible opening of a Russian military base in Azerbaijan appeared via “Zvezda” TV channel. According to the author, the material was based on “publicly available information.”
