Vardan Gevorgyan, a 16-year-old resident of Kurtan village in the Lori Province of Armenia, was stabbed Friday, and he died en route to the Stepanavan town medical center.

The sources of Armenian News-NEWS.am informed that according to preliminary information, the boy was killed by a relative.

Several hours after the incident, a fellow villager was detained on suspicion of committing murder.

We have learned that the incident had occurred in the village pavilion, and around insignificant domestic issues.

The suspect and the victim had argued and shoved each other. Subsequently, the brothers of the two sides also had gotten involved in the argument. But the tragedy had occurred for some senseless reason.

The murder suspect is 22 years old, his name is Seyran, and it is said he is a relative of the victim.

The provincial investigation department has opened a criminal case on murder charges.

The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter at the scene informed that the police patrolled the village throughout the night to prevent a possible act of revenge.
