YEREVAN. - Anna A., wife of Edgar Petrosyan, charged with hitting a Turkish citizen by his car, told new details about the incident involving her husband. She told Armenian News – NEWS.am her husband got to know the Turkish citizen Khalil Ferman Ic about a month before the incident. The latter used Petrosyan’s taxi.

“We lived in Turkey for about eight years. My husband knows Turkish. Ic asked my husband to drive him to work every day. In fact, Ic is constructing an elite building in Armenia. They got quite close with each other over that time. Then my husband sold his car for 3000 USD,” Anna said.

According to her, when the Turkish citizen found out about the sale of the car, he proposed to Edgar to lend him the money received from his car sale, promising to pay him back even more so that Edgar can buy a better car. “My husband agreed, thinking that 3000 USD must not be a large amount for a businessman like Ic. On the day of the incident, they were both sitting in a café. Ic’s uncle Aram approached them and my husband found out that Ic was going to leave Armenia. When they were alone, my husband began talking about the money, and Ic said the amount had not yet been transferred to his account, and thus he could not return it then,” she said.

According to Anna, they then got into a car, and her husband was at the wheel. The latter began demanding the money, threatening by knife, but Ic grabbed the knife and ran away. “My husband got angry and drove the car at him, hitting Ic, after which the quarrel continued. Then my husband took another taxi, helped Ic to get into it and sent him to hospital,” the woman said, assuring that her husband neither avoided liability nor fled away. But Ic, according to her, gave false testimony.
