A laboratory has opened in Yakutsk, Russia, where the remains of excavated archaeological animals will be studied.

This is the first scientific center in Russia where biotechnology research is conducted on ancient specimens, reported the Svopi news portal.

The main task of this lab will be to find living DNA cells in the specimens of animals, and for future cloning.

Experts point out that the bodies of animals that have remained under ice sheet are better preserved.
