YEREVAN. – Armenia has recorded a 4-percent GDP growth in the first half of 2015, stated Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, at Monday’s Cabinet meeting.

In the first and second quarter, the increase was 2.5 and 5.1 percent, respectively, the PM also announced citing the National Statistical Service data.

Against the backdrop of a substantial reduction in remittances to Armenia, the country’s agricultural growth—which considerably lessens the absence of purchasing power of its residents—is especially important.

“Our [i.e. Armenia’s] export diversification should also be noted,” added Abrahamyan. “Today, we export [to] more number of countries than before.”
