Piotr Switalski has been appointed as Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs announced on Monday.
The diplomat is currently serving as Director for Policy Planning in the Council of Europe and was formerly the Permanent Representative of Poland to the Council of Europe.
In his diplomatic career, he served as Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, worked in OSCE and UN.
The diplomat will replace Romanian diplomat Traian Hristea who has been heading the delegation since 2011.
