YEREVAN. - Armenian activist Vaghinak Shushanyan, who got injured during the “No to Plunder” campaign protest today, has turned to Armenia’s Ombudsman. Shushanyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am he has been hit by the policemen from different sides.

“I was tugged and scolded and then one of the policeman hit me in my chest, which had already been injured. Now my pains have come back, and I have injuries on my hands. They also hit in my kidneys by fists several times and applied suffocation technique,” Shushanyan said. He also stressed he remembers the face of the policeman who hit him in the chest, but won’t turn to the police, since this, according to him, is senseless.

Earlier, the “No to Plunder” campaign had announced that they are re-launching their struggle against electricity price hike in Armenia,  their previous demands not being fulfilled.

When the activists tried to approach the Presidential residence, clashes began between them and the police. 6 activists were detained, 5 of which were later released.
