STEPANAKERT. - The opening of the Karabakh Branch of the Armenian State Agrarian University will take place Wednesday in Karabakh’s city of Shushi, Karabakh President Spokesman Davit Babayan told Armenian News – NEWS.am, touching on the festivities in honor of the 24th anniversary of Karabakh independence.

The branch, according to Babayan, will be a huge complex.

“This is a great event for both Karabakh education sphere and development of Shushi,” Babayan said.  

In his words, in the morning the march headed by the leadership of Armenia and Nagorno- Karabakh Republic (NKR) will move to the monument in capital Stepanakert. “There they will lay flowers at the graves of the soldiers-liberators and that of Arthur Mkrtchyan, the first Chairman of the NKR Supreme Council. And, of course, a gala concert will be held and the “Tumo” centre will be opened,” Babayan said.

Karabakh independence was declared on September 2, 1991.
