YEREVAN. - The “No to Plunder” campaign members, struggling against electricity price hike in Yerevan’s Baghramyan Avenue, are heading to the Republic Square, where the “Stand up, Armenia” campaign is holding a protest.

“No to Plunder” campaign Council member Maxim Sargsyan said the activists are demanding that the police immediately release the 4 activists of the “Stand up, Armenia,” who were taken to police departments.

“If they aren’t released by the time we reach [the Republic Square], we’ll continue our protest in the square,” he said.

“No to Plunder” activists announced about the end of their protest in Baghramyan Avenue. They will hold a rally in Yerevan’s Liberty Square on September 11.

The police have released the sixth “No to Plunder” activist detained today. All of them have joined the march.

At the police department the activists were told they had been detained for failing to implement the legitimate requirements of the police, as well as crossing the street in a wrong place.
