Russian Ambassador Ivan Volinkin on Tuesday attended, in primarily Russian-populated Fioletovo village in the Lori Province of Armenia, the events devoted to start of the new school year, and congratulated the village schoolchildren and teachers on Knowledge Day.

Second building of the local school was renovated and put into operation, before September 1, by the efforts of South Caucasus Railway (SCR) CJSC.

“This is good and right tradition, since the children of our compatriots study in this school; naturally, this imposes certain obligations upon us [i.e. Russia],” stated Volinkin. “I am grateful to [SCR General Director] Victor Rebets, and the South Caucasus Railway for the work done.”
