Russia’s Rostov Oblast court has arrested the prime suspect, who beat the Armenian driver Rafael Khlghatyan to death during a village festival, RIA Novosti reports, citing Galina Gagalaeva, the representative of the regional Investigative Department of Russia’s Investigative Committee.

“Detention has been chosen as a preventive measure for the suspect,” she said, noting that the investigation into the case is underway.

Last Sunday enraged crowd beat Ford Focus driver Rafael Khlghatyan, 22, to death since he had crashed into 5 parked cars in a state of intoxication.

The main participant of the battery, 46-year-old Andrey Z. from Russia’s Sinyavskoe village, was later detained.
