YEREVAN. - Shahen Harutyunyan, son of Armenian political activist and prisoner Shant Harutyunyan, was today removed along with some other fans from Yerevan’s Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium during Armenia v. Denmark match, Shahen Harutyunyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

“We weren’t going to do anything. We were just going back and forth when the policemen came and forced me and several other guys out, pushing us and making us slide down,” Shahen Harutyunyan said, adding that they were removed during the second half.

Before the start of the game, the President of the Armenian Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan had talked to Shahen, urging him to refrain from invading the field, as he did during Armenia v. Portugal match. According to the President, that would negatively impact the squad.

Shahen Harutyunyan had gone to the stadium in a T-shirt with his father’s photo. Earlier, he had invaded the field during the first half of Armenia v. Portugal match in the same T-shirt aiming to voice the issue of political prisoners in Armenia.
