YEREVAN. – A report was received, on Sunday at 6pm, from Valerik Davtyan, a resident of Sisian town in the Syunik Province of Armenia.

Accordingly, his son, Suren Davtyan, had left their home driving his car on September 19 at around 12pm, but never returned.

Suren Davtyan’s vehicle, which had been in an accident, and his dead body outside the car were found on Monday at 8:40am in Tsghuk village in the Syunik Province.

An operative team from the Investigative Committee of Armenia was dispatched to the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, the automobile driven by Suren Davtyan, 26, who was a military officer, had gone off road on the Meghri-Yerevan Highway, rolled down into the roadside gorge, and Davtyan had died on the spot.

Forensic medical, technical, and automotive technical examinations have been commissioned.
