YEREVAN. – Opposition Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) will vote in favor of the new draft Constitution.
PAP Spokesperson and MP Vahan Babayan stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Tuesday.
Babayan added that they had numerous discussions before making this decision.
“A variety of legislative amendments will stem from the Constitution,” said the PAP representative. “We will do everything so that laws are adopted whereby the [Armenian] society senses the importance of and need for these amendments.”
The new draft Constitution of Armenia has been debated in the National Assembly. Pursuant to this draft, the country will make a transition from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system of governance.
