Today’s economic indicators do not yet correspond to the great potential in Armenia-Sweden economic cooperation.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is in the US on a working visit, on Monday said the aforementioned at his meeting in New York with Prime Minister Stefan Löfvén of Sweden.

Sargsyan, however, highly assessed Armenian-Swedish collaboration.

The Armenian President and the Swedish PM underscored Armenia-European Union (EU) relations and collaboration on the agenda of Armenian-Swedish cooperation. Sargsyan stressed Sweden’s role in the strengthening of Armenia-EU relations.

The interlocutors noted the need to develop bilateral trade and economic ties.

Separately, Serzh Sargsyan highlighted Sweden’s balanced approach regarding a pacific settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The parties also reflected on cooperation within international organizations.

In addition, Serzh Sargsyan and Stefan Löfvén drew attention to the need to intensify parliamentary cooperation between the two friendship countries.
