YEREVAN. – Gagik Tsarukyan has made a huge contribution to the development of sports in Armenia, and under his leadership, the National Olympic Committee of Armenia (ARMNOC) has achieved great accomplishments.

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan stated the abovementioned at his talk Tuesday with President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), and President Patrick Hickey of the European Olympic Committees (EOC).

The Premier thanked the guests for arriving in Armenia to participate in the events on the 25th anniversary of ARMNOC.

Abrahamyan expressed a conviction that ARMNOC-ANOC-EOC cooperation will continue to develop with dynamism.

The PM also noted that Armenia has had thirteen Olympic champions so far, and to achieve greater respective progress, the Armenian government will continue collaborating with ARMNOC and the international Olympic organizations.

Heads of ANOC and EOC, for their part, noted that they are happy to be in Armenia and attend the official opening of the Olympic village, which is built in capital city Yerevan. They also welcomed the collaboration between the Armenian authorities and the Olympic movement.

At the end of meeting, EOC President Patrick Hickey presented to PM Hovik Abrahamyan an EOC memento.
