YEREVAN. – The United States fully supports the implementation of an OSCE investigation mechanism to verify allegations of ceasefire violations along the Line of Contact and Armenia-Azerbaijan border, OSCE Co-Chair James Warlick said in response to an inquiry by the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.  

“We urge Azerbaijan to accept mechanisms that would help de-escalate tensions and, most importantly, avoid civilian casualties. We also urge Armenia to accept Azerbaijan’s public calls for a genuine negotiation process under the auspices of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs that could lead to a lasting, peaceful settlement,” the diplomat said in response to comment on the current situation.

Three civilians were killed and four other wounded in Amenia’s Tavush region as a result of ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani side on September 24.
