YEREVAN. - Applicants from Armenia are distinguished for their high level of preparation and high stipends, Silvia Schmid, director of Information Center of German Academic Exchange Service Exchanges (DAAD) in Yerevan said at the meeting with Armenia’s Science and Education Minister Armen Ashotyan today.  

Ashotyan said that interest towards programs of the German academic exchange is growing in Armenia, as reported by Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science press-service.

“Eagerness of the Armenian students to get education in the higher education institutions of Germany has significantly grown, and this is also due to the efficient cooperation,” the Minister said. He also stressed that Germany is the second country in the world, where a large number of Armenian students are studying by different programs.   

According to Ashotyan, Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science is ready to contribute to the growth of interest to the German language at schools. He underscored the importance of reaching an agreement with the German side on expanding and developing programs on preparing teachers of German.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed a number of other issues relating to the bilateral cooperation in the area of education and science.
