YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia received information on Friday at 8:28am.

Accordingly, the seismological network of the ministry’s “Survey for Seismic Protection” Agency recorded a 5.3-magnitude earthquake at 3.24am local time.

The epicenter of the tremor was in Nakhchivan (Nakhijevan) Autonomous Republic, in Azerbaijan, near the border with Armenia, and 20km away from Kajaran, Armenia.

The quake measured magnitude 3 at the epicenter, and its hypocenter was 10km beneath the surface.

The seismic activity was also felt in Kajaran town in the Syunik Province.
