YEREVAN. – The investigation continues in the case involving Armenian citizen Karen Petrosyan, who was killed in Azerbaijani captivity.

Press service of the National Security Service of Armenia informed the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

A criminal case was instituted on this incident.

Even though the forensic medical examination report has been received, it is not made public.

The team of attorneys is waiting for the investigation to be completed in order to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

Karen Petrosyan, a 32-year-old resident of Chinari village in the Tavush Province of Armenia, was captured by the Azerbaijanis on August 7, 2014. On the next day, Azerbaijan informed that the young man had “suddenly” died of an “acute heart failure.” The Azerbaijani authorities, however, had returned Petrosyan’s dead body to Armenia on October 10 of the year past.
