YEREVAN. – The Armenian parliament on Monday approved the decision to put constitutional amendments to referendum with 104 votes for, 10 against and 3 abstentions.
Armenian National Congress and Heritage were opposing the bill describing it as an attempt to reproduce power.
The voting was accompanied by a protest action against constitutional reforms near the parliament's building
Pursuant to the new draft Constitution, Armenia will make a transition from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system of governance.
