The expert of International expert Center for Electoral Systems (ICES) Alexander Tsinker hopes that escalation in Karabakh conflict zone will not bring to any large-scale hostilities.

An Israeli expert believes that the OSCE Minsk Group does almost nothing, or, cannot do anything even if they want to do.

Azerbaijan will hold parliamentary elections soon, and the ruling party is trying to show it is ready to resolve any issues, including this one, and, if needed, even by force of arms, he told reporters.

“I hope no large incidents will happen before November 1, and after the election the flash will begin to subside. But it is a signal that the Minsk Group should find at least half a step, should try to find a solution to the conflict, so that each side understands that they can move towards each other. When there is a conflict, a compromise is needed,” the expert said.

Asked about balanced, not targeted statements of the mediators, the expert noted that often international formats allegedly willing to settle the problem, are stuck to such an approach.

Tsinker is also very skeptical about the initiative to launch investigation mechanisms. There will be hardly any commission that will point to the responsible party, he emphasized.
