YEREVAN. – As a result of the audit conducted at the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) CJSC, the increase in the prices of electricity is not justified.

Opposition Freedom Party Chairman, former PM, and opposition Armenian National Congress National Assembly Faction MP, economist Hrant Bagratyan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his words, the results of the audit are a complete folly.

“I know the energy ratio—hydropower, thermal power, and nuclear plant,” said Bagratyan. “Under the conditions of a 40 percent power plant, it’s impossible to get a tariff more than 45 drams [per kilowatt/hour]. I don’t need anyone to validate the [electricity] price hike.”

Hrant Bagratyan added that if energy reforms are not implemented, the ENA’s sale will not bring about any substantial changes.
