YEREVAN. – Armenia's Deputy Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan met with the delegation from Sweden's Foreign Ministry headed by deputy head of department on Eastern Europe and Central Asia Therese Haiden.

The sides discussed current level of bilateral cooperation and development prospects. The officials underscored importance of working within EU and NATO and expressed readiness to study opportunities of cooperation in peacekeeping mission, humanitarian response and education.

Armenian official briefed the guests on situation on Armenia-Azerbaijan border and line of contact as well as informed about the moves of Azerbaijan to destabilize situation.

The sides expressed concern over escalation of tension, use of large caliber weapons, shelling of villages, and confirmed their support for the settlement exclusively within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group.
