Armenian Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan urged Iranian companies to make investments in Armenia.

“Armenia is a member of EEC and in case Iranian firms invest in Armenia, they will be able to export their goods to the commission member states,” he said during the meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi.

“Armenia is the gate to the European Union which is an advantage for countries investing in Armenia,” he added.

The Iranian deputy minister, in return, welcomed friendly relations between Tehran and Yerevan since Armenia's independence and said that visits by high-ranking officials can help promotion of bilateral ties, particularly after the nuclear agreement between Iran and Group 5+1 which has facilitated development of economic ties with neighboring Armenia, Fars agency reported.
