YEREVAN. – The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) does not exert unfair pressure on the national currency—the dram,  said CBA Deputy Chairman Nerses Yeritsyan, on Wednesday in the National Assembly.

He assured that there is no artificial containment of the exchange rate of the dram.

As per Yeritsyan, the further analyses by the CBA will show that its currency interventions aim to fix the short-term fluctuations, and it is impossible stop or change the long-term trends through these interventions.

“As for inflation, the conventional forecasting period is three years,” added Nerses Yeritsyan. “The Central Bank expects it within the 4 +/- 1.5-percent target indicator.”
