YEREVAN. – The fact that 104 lawmakers voted for the constitutional reforms proves that political forces have reached consensus and they see necessity in the reforms, deputy speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said after the meeting of ruling party on Wednesday.
He warned against viewing constitutional reforms in the context of struggle between the opposition and authorities.
Asked about the date of a referendum, Sharmazanov said the president is authorized to make the decision. National Assembly has submitted the text to the president’s residence, he added.
