YEREVAN. – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, on Thursday met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and African Integration of Niger, Aïchatou Kané Boulama, who has arrived in Armenia to participate in the 31st meeting of the Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF).

FM Nalbandian welcomed the guest, and expressed gratitude for her participation in the aforesaid session of the OIF Ministerial Conference. The minister pointed to the symbolic reception of the first delegation that has arrived in Armenia from Niger, and added that this visit enables discussions on the development of cooperation between the two countries.

Edward Nalbandian also expressed condolences to Niger’s FM over the death of Niger citizens in the recent tragic incidents during the Hajj in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

The Niger FM, for her part, thanked for the organization of the OIF Ministerial Conference and warm reception, and expressed satisfaction over her visit to Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan and discussions on the development of cooperation.

At the ensuing talk, the sides reflected on the formation of a legal framework between Armenia and Niger, and the possibility of their cooperation within international organizations.
