YEREVAN. – Relations between Armenia and the European Union will be one of the key topics to be discussed during the visit of French Minister of State for European Affairs Harlem Desir to Armenia.

“France supports Armenia in talks with EU to conclude a special agreement, even with the decision to become a part of the Eurasian Economic Union with Russia. We respect this choice and will confirm the mandate for talks at EU level next week during the meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxemburg,” Mr. Desir told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent in Yerevan.

According to him, a new stage in history of Armenia-EU relations will open next week.

Speaking about his visit for the 31st meeting of the Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), the Minister said France has close relations with Armenia, and it is important to be in Yerevan during key events.

The Minister will hold meetings with President Sargsyan, Armenian MPs, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to discuss international issues, including refugee crisis and Syria war, as well as development of democratic process and elections.
