YEREVAN. - The first exhibition of Sargis Sahakyan, dentist and self-taught painter, took place today in Yerevan’s Naregatsi Art Institute. The exhibition is titled “Prague is wonderful.” The Czech Republic Ambassador to Armenia Peter Mikiska attended the event.

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Sargis Sahakyan- impressed by the beauty of the fusion of Prague’s architecture and nature – said that Rome is the “white pearl of Europe,” Prague being “the black pearl of Europe.” “I feel I’m a happy man: my dream has come true. Since I didn’t get an artistic education, it’s a very brave step on my part to  be here today and present you my paintings,” the young dentist who has been painting since he was 15, said.

Ambassador Mikiska told Armenian News – NEWS.am: “The Embassy is very happy it was able to join the efforts of the Naregatsi Institute and help a little in presenting this nice painter. His paintings show great love for Prague. It’s very pleasant for us that a man visiting the Czech Republic not only returns with the photos of that country, but also transfers this love through paintings.”

The exhibition will last till November 22.
