An unprecedented exhibition entitled “Armenian heritage” - dedicated to the history and culture of Ukrainian Armenians - has opened in “Sophia Kyivska” national sanctuary in Ukraine’s Metropolitan House today.

The exhibition, the most interesting presents  the pages of centuries-long history of Ukrainian Armenians, the representatives of the Committee on Historical and Cultural Heritage Affairs of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine (UAU) said.

The head of the UAU Vilen Shatvoryan, Armenian Ambassador to Armenia Andranik Manukyan, Director of the Department of Religious and Ethnic Affairs Andriy Yurash,  Deputy Director General of “Sophia Kyivska” national sanctuary Vyacheslav Kornienko made a welcome speech. Following this, David Davtyan, the head of the UAU Committee on Historical and Cultural Heritage, presented the exposition in detail.  

The exhibition opening was also attended by famous public figures, historians, experts and other guests.

The event was accompanied by the melodies of Armenian duduk played by the talented musician Alik Hovhannisyan.

Mr Shatvoryan underscored the importance of the events which contribute to the popularization of historical and cultural heritage, AnalitikaUA.net reports. And the bright pages of the history of Armenians of Ukraine serve a special stimulus for development and creativity, he said.

The exhibition has been organized by the efforts of the UAU Committee on Historical and Cultural Heritage Affairs, as well as the staff of “Sophia Kyivska” national sanctuary.
