YEREVAN. – Any matter related to Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) cannot be resolved without the consent of the people of Artsakh.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, told the abovementioned to Aravot daily.

He stated this reflecting on the Russian Kommersant newspaper’s report, according to which territorial concessions regarding the Karabakh conflict were one of the key matters discussed during the talks between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Armenian leadership, and within the framework of Lavrov’s recent visit to Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

Nalbandian also advised to rely on official information when commenting on such delicate issues.

“Presidents of the [OSCE] Minsk Group co-chair countries [i.e. US, Russia, and France] have made five statements regarding the Karabakh conflict settlement; they have presented one completeness,” Nalbandian stressed. “What was publicized in the press does not correspond to the approaches the leaders of the co-chair countries have publicized concerning the settlement of the key issue.”
